Ari Gold says he turned personal loss into an exciting adventure.
The Las Vegas man jumped on his bike after he says he lost his joba and his wife.
He set off to bike across the world, and with his 200 lb. load, Gold has biked 10,000 miles through 18 states. He says he's taking in the sights and lessons along the way.
Gold says he is looking for work on a sail boat now so he can bike across Europe.

I am Ari Gold, http://BikeToAustralia.com. I have been on the road for 18 months and traveled 10,000 by the time I got to Key West, Florida.
My journey has just begun. Now, I am riding my bicycle north on the eastern seaboard, looking for working passage on a sailboat to Europe.
I will ride all over Europe, experiencing firsthand the castles, museums, places of worship, food, music, accents, mind-sets, mannerisms - culture, landscapes and wildlife.
Then, I will travel through the Middle East learning about their lives, lands and history. This land is the birthplace of the Judeo-Christian-Moslem belief system.
On to Asia, where most of the world's people have lived throughout recorded history, 6,000 years of uninterrupted history. All those, cultures, languages, animals, plants (mega-biodiversity).
And then, the islands - Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania. There's so much I don't know.
Then, back to where I liked it most. I will make a home there and invite my friends to visit. Imagine the person I will become, who I am becoming. You can ride with me, on your bike or on your computer.
